The God Who Still Hears
Micah 7:7 – “Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.”
When All Else Fails
There comes a time when the strongest voices go
quiet.
The most capable hands go limp.
The once-vibrant spirit grows still.
Not because we don’t want to fight, but because
we’ve fought too long.
It’s the weariness that doesn’t show on the
outside.
It’s the shutdown that happens in the soul.
You still show up for work.
You still speak when spoken to.
But inwardly, the flame is barely flickering.
This is where the prophet Micah found himself.
In a time of betrayal, collapse, injustice, and confusion—he whispers not a
speech, but a resolve:
“I will look
unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.”
(Micah 7:7)
He didn’t say this from a palace.
He said this from the dust.
This is a lifeline for anyone who feels like they’re hanging by one thread of
faith.
1.
How Do I Look to God… When My
Head Is Hanging Low?
It starts not with fixing yourself.
Not with shouting a perfect prayer.
Not with impressing God.
It starts with a whisper.
Looking to God is not a physical act, it’s a
shift of the heart. It’s as simple as saying, “God, I don’t know how to pray, but I’m still here.”
That’s how you begin.
“They
looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.” – Psalm
34:5
“I lift up my eyes to the
hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord…” – Psalm
121:1–2
You don’t have to fake it. Just lift your eyes.
Your tears still count as prayers.
Your silence still echoes in heaven.
Even the sigh of a weary soul is a look toward God.
2. How Do I Wait on God… Without
Losing Hope?
Waiting on God doesn’t mean doing nothing.
It means staying close even when there’s no answer.
It means leaning in, not walking away.
Here’s how to wait when you feel like giving
up:
·
Stay near
His Word, even if you can read only one verse a day.
Let it be your oxygen.
(Psalm 130:5 – “I wait for the Lord, my soul
waits, and in His word I hope.”)
·
Speak
honestly. Tell Him, “I don’t understand, but I trust You’ll come
through.”
(Lamentations 3:25 – “The Lord is good to
those who wait for Him…”)
·
Surrender
your deadlines. God’s pace is perfect, though rarely predictable.
(Isaiah 40:31 – “They that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength…”)
You don’t have to wait with strength.
You wait to receive strength.
3.
How Do I Return to God… When
I Feel Too Far Gone?
This is where many give up.
Not because they don’t believe in God—but because they no longer believe He would want them back.
But listen. You can always come home.
God doesn’t need a perfect apology.
He wants a real one.
He doesn't wait for your performance.
He waits for your presence.
Return
begins with these three quiet steps:
·
Admit the
distance. Say, “God, I know I’ve wandered… but I want to come back.”
(Joel 2:13 – “Return to the Lord your God,
for He is gracious and merciful…”)
·
Open the
door. Even a whisper is enough.
(Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the
door and knock…”)
·
Receive
His welcome.
He’s not rolling His eyes at you.
He’s running toward you.
📖 “But
You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in
love and faithfulness.” – Psalm 86:15
No matter how far you’ve drifted—you can come back today.
And when you do, He will not reject you.
He will restore you.
4.
To the Weary, the Fallen, and
the Called
This is not the end of your story.
You may feel shut down.
You may have walked away from your calling.
You may be surviving on scraps of hope.
But here’s what’s still true:
God still hears.
He still sees.
He still calls.
He still restores.
This isn’t a sermon.
It’s a whisper in the dark,
from one weary soul to another:
Look up again. Wait one more time. Return
with nothing but your heart.
And watch how God moves.
A
Whisper of Promise
“My
God will hear me.” – Micah 7:7
Not might. Not maybe.
He will.
Your voice is not too faint.
Your faith is not too small.
Your future is not too lost.
God is not done with you.
This valley is not forever.
The calling still stands.
Today, rise—not
with your own strength,
but with this quiet assurance:
You are heard. You are seen. You are
still chosen.
A
Gentle Invitation
Pause for a moment.
Close your eyes.
Whisper this:
“Lord, I’m tired. But I look to You.
I don’t know how long this will last, but I wait for You.
And though I feel small, I believe You still hear me.
Restore me. Lead me. I want to rise again.”
Share this if you know someone feeling discouraged.
Tag a friend. Forward the whisper. Someone out
there needs to know:
The God who still hears… is listening
right now.
