You Are Not Wandering. You Are Being Led.
You didn’t take the wrong turn.
You didn’t miss your moment.
Even here, in this in-between place—
You are not wandering. You are being led.
“And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the Lord, and blessed the Lord God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way…”
—Genesis 24:48
Sometimes, all you have are pieces—loose ends, quiet prayers, days that blur into waiting. But then, something aligns. You look back, and realize: God was there all along.
That’s where we find Eliezer, Abraham’s servant, in Genesis 24:48. Sent on a mission with no roadmap, he carried only his master’s trust and a prayer in his heart. And yet—when it all unfolded with perfect precision—his first response wasn’t to celebrate. It was to worship.
He bowed his head in awe, not just because the mission succeeded, but because he saw the fingerprints of God guiding him in ways he couldn’t have orchestrated. “The Lord… had led me in the right way.”
That’s more than a testimony—it’s an anchor for your own heart today.
1. When the Answer Comes Gently, Not Loudly
Eliezer didn’t hear thunder. He didn’t see angels. But God was there—in the timing, in the whisper of a well, in the arrival of Rebekah at just the right moment.
God’s guidance often feels like that. Not loud. Not immediate. But undeniable once you step back.
He leads through closed doors and open ones. Through people we didn’t expect. Through places we never would have chosen. And when we pause, like Eliezer, we often find ourselves breathing the same confession:
“You led me, Lord… and I didn’t even see it at the time.”
“He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble His way.” – Psalm 25:9
2. When Worship Becomes the Way Forward
Notice the posture of Eliezer’s heart. He didn’t just note God’s faithfulness—he bowed in worship. Before he even told others what had happened, he offered honor to the One who made it happen.
In our striving, it’s easy to move from moment to moment, always looking for the next thing. But this story reminds us that sometimes the holiest thing we can do is pause and give thanks.
Have you seen God’s hand, even in small things lately? Have you recognized the subtle ways He’s shown up for you?
What if today’s calling isn’t to figure out the next step, but simply to worship the God who brought you this far?
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1
3. When You’re Still Waiting to See the Way
And yet… maybe your story doesn’t feel like Eliezer’s right now. Maybe you're still standing at the well, wondering if the answer will come. Maybe you’ve walked in obedience, but the road is still foggy. Maybe you’re tired of wondering if you missed it—missed Him.
If that’s you, take comfort in this truth:
The same God who guided Eliezer is guiding you.
Even when you can’t see it. Even when it doesn’t feel like it.
He isn’t just writing your story; He’s walking it with you.
He hasn’t misplaced your purpose or overlooked your obedience. The road may be slow, winding, or silent—but it is still the right way when it is led by Him.
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” – Isaiah 30:21
“He led them forth by the right way…” – Psalm 107:7
Reflection
-
Can you look back on a moment that once felt uncertain, but now looks like God’s perfect plan?
-
What would it look like to trust Him in advance—to bow before the breakthrough, and worship before the answer?
-
Are you willing to believe that even this path, the one that feels unclear, is not wasted?
He whispers even now:
“You are not lost. You’re not behind. I am leading you—still.”
Prayer
Lord, I thank You for every hidden moment You’ve led me in ways I didn’t understand. Give me eyes to recognize Your hand, and a heart that bows in worship, even in the waiting. Amen.
You are not wandering. You are being led.
Every quiet detour, every paused dream—
I have not forgotten you.
Even here, I am guiding you in the right way.
